Minister Danese Frazier Turner

Danese Turner has over 19 years of marketing communication, writing, and instructional design experience.  She is currently a lead instructional designer and writer in the Learning Development organization at IBM.  Instructional Design is her current profession, but her passion is teaching and creatively sharing the purpose and power of the worship arts with the people of God.

Danese is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in English, graduating #4 in her class after only three years in college.  She holds a Master’s Degree (with honors) in Technical and Scientific Communication from Miami University (Ohio) and holds a Certificate in Instructional Design and Technology through the University of Georgia.

After an intensive one-year program, Danese was officially licensed as a Minister of Dance in October 2006 through the Eagles International Training Institute (EITI) and Set Free Ministries, Inc., under the anointed training and instruction of Dr. Pamela Rutherford Hardy, an internationally-known dance minister and a trailblazer in liturgical dance.  Danese was one of four recipients of the Excellence in Writing Awards in her 2006 EITI class and now serves as a Writing Coach to current participants in the Institute.

Minister Turner is an active member of Turner Chapel AME Church, where the Rev. Kenneth E. Marcus is Senior Pastor.  She started REJOICE! The Children's Dance Ministry of Turner Chapel in 2001, and continues to serve as ministry leader.  In 2006, she was appointed by the Youth Pastor, Rev. Don Ezell, to serve as the Team Lead for all Youth Worship Ministries.  She also leads Spirit and Truth Adult Dance Ministry at Turner, a growing group of praying dance warriors.  For the past 4 years, Danese has been the writer, producer, and co-director of a major stage production encompassing all of the Worship Arts Ministries of Turner Chapel.  This annual Spring Production, with a cast of over 150 people, ranging in age from 5 - 65, has become a much-anticipated, life-changing, theatrical worship experience.

Danese serves as the Georgia State Director of the EITI and mentors several Eagles both in the United States and abroad.  She also teaches at Worship Arts workshops and conferences across the country and facilitates educational "Power Sessions" for ministries locally. Danese is also a member of the Christian Dance Fellowship USA.  She is an active member of Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and is the Public Relations and Event Coordinator for the Atlanta Tougaloo College Alumni Chapter.

In April 2006, Minister Turner founded The Purpose and Power Connection, a consortium of anointed worship artists with a wide array of giftings, whose mission is to connect facilitators/teachers, dancers, puppetry artists, mimes, steppers, and pageantry artists with any workshop or event where the purpose is to bring glory to God and to display His power.

Danese is married to her true soulmate, Andrew Turner, and is the mother of Déja and the beloved “Mama D” to Christopher, Steven, Jamesia, and Jahlisa.

Danese is excited about where God is leading her in ministry and personally testifies to Proverbs 18:16, "A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."

About Our Logo

littlelogoThe nondescript figures illustrate movement and praise. They represent men, women, boys and girls of all ages, all races, and all cultures in accordance with the command in Psalm 150:6. The command is so important that it is repeated twice in the same short verse: "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the Lord." And praise is truly an action verb!! The color purple represents royalty and Kingship, and the yellow/gold represents glory and celebration. All of God's children are "a royal priesthood and a chosen generation" and that's reason enough to celebrate!
